100 Years of the Polish Red Cross Presentation At PMA
CHICAGO, IL – A presentation on the origin of Poland’s oldest humanitarian organization and its monumental role in supporting the nation – 100 years of the Polish Red Cross. Program in Polish – will be held on Saturday, May 11
th, 6 p.m. at the Polish Museum of America, 984 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL, 60642-4101. Clifton Health Department Presents 2018 Annual Report
CLIFTON, NJ – The Clifton Health Department will present its 2018 Annual Report at its Board of Health Meeting on Tuesday, May 14
th at 6:30 pm at Clifton City Hall, 900 Clifton Avenue, Clifton. The Clifton community is invited and encouraged to attend this informative meeting.  Registration is not required.  The Clifton Health Department’s 2018 Annual Report identifies the services and programs provided by the Administrative, Animal Control, Environmental Health, Health Education, and Public Health Nursing divisions during 2018. During the presentation, Health Officer John E. Biegel, III and staff will review highlights, accomplishments, and challenges during 2018 and what is planned and anticipated for the near future.  In partnership with the community, the Clifton Health Department works to prevent disease, promote and protect health and well-being, and enrich quality of life for those who live and work in our community. NJBG Lilac Workshop — May 18, 2019
NEW JERSEY – NJBG will sponsor a free hands-on Lilac Workshop on Saturday, May 18, 2019, from 9 am to 1 pm. Attendees will work with NJBG Head Landscape Designer Rich Flynn to restore and improve the New Jersey State Botanical Garden’s renowned lilac collection.  Mr. Flynn will give a lesson on lilac care and cultivation at 10 am. Join this free workshop for a great chance to learn by doing, and to get answers to any questions you may have. Beginners are welcome. Bring lunch and gloves; rakes and pruners, too, if you have them. NJBG is located on Morris Road in Ringwood, NJ. 18th Annual Lollipops & Roses Concert
CLIFTON, NJ – The Clifton Community Band, directed by Robert D. Morgan,  is performing their 18th Annual Lollipops & Roses Intergenerational Concert on Saturday, May 18th @  2 pm – JFK Auditorium, Clifton High School, Colfax Ave., Clifton, NJ 07013. Polish Singers Alliance of America’s 67th District Seven Convention To Be Held In Passaic, NJ
NEW JERSEY – The Chopin Singing Society is pleased to invite you to the 67th District Seven Convention of the Polish Singers Alliance of America. The convention will take place at the Polish-American Cultural Center, 1-3 Monroe Street, Passaic, NJ. The one day convention will be held on May 25, 2019. The Mass and Concert will take place at St. Joseph’s Church, 7 Parker Avenue, Passaic, NJ while the rest of activities will be held at the Polish-American Cultural Center.

March into History at Lambert Castle
Civil War Weekend – May 18-19, 2019
NEW JERSEY – Come one! Come All! March into history with the Passaic County Historical Society and the Second New Jersey Brigade at Lambert Castle (3 Valley Road, Paterson, NJ) on Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19, from 10 am-4 pm.  Experience Civil War camp life and a full day of demonstrations including infantry, signal corps, civilians, cavalry, artillery, 22nd US Colored Troops, and medical. Lambert Castle Museum will also be open with free admission all day!  Come for a few hours or stay for the day. Parking available in the lot at Lambert Castle. Overflow parking is also available at Rifle Camp Park (387 Rifle Camp Rd, Woodland Park) with shuttle transport to Lambert Castle. NEW JERSEY – The Polish American Citizens Club, 29 Kline Blvd., Whitehouse Station welcomes Ring of Fire – the area’s only tribute to “the man in black”, Johnny Cash on Saturday, May 18, 2019. Polish American Congress – Western New York Division
To Celebrate Diamond Jubilee
NEW YORK – The Polish American Congress, Western New York Division will celebrate the organization’s Diamond Jubilee with a special Mass, plaque dedication, and reception. The Polish American Congress made its first appearance at a Holy Mass celebrated by Bishop Duffy at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Church on May 28, 1944. A special Mass will take place on June 1, 2019 at 4 p.m. to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Polish American Congress. The Chopin Singing Society will be present for the Mass as well as other Polonian organizations, community leaders, and dignitaries. PACWNY President, James L. Ławicki II, said, “A little known historic fact is that the Polish American Congress met and appeared for the first time at a Mass which took place at St. Stanislaus Church. This event is of relevance to our organization, the local community, and the church itself. It undeniably augments the already rich historic importance of the Mother Church of Polonia.” During the Mass a bronze plaque will be unveiled and dedicated to commemorate the first appearance of the PAC as an organized group at St. Stanislaus B.M. Church in 1944. Following Mass, a reception will take place at the Clement Mansion (Red Cross Building), 786 Delaware Ave., Buffalo from 6 – 8 p.m. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served. Polonaise Society Offers Scholarships
NEW YORK – The Hudson Valley Polonaise Society will be awarding two $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors who are of Polish descent. Seniors must be graduates of Orange County high schools; or the son or daughter of an active HVPS member. Graduating seniors who meet the criteria and who attended Orange County, NY high schools are encouraged to contact their Guidance Office for an application. Yankees vs Mets Game
CLIFTON, NJ – The Clifton Recreation Department is conducting a trip to see the “New York Yankees vs the New York Mets” on Tuesday, June 11, 2019. Seats are located in Section 431 A & B. Tickets cost $95.00 per person and includes your game ticket, transportation, tolls, parking and an all you can eat buffet (available for 90 minutes) at the Master Pass Batter’s Eye private area prior to the game. Menu includes: Nathan’s hot dogs, burgers, chicken tenders, french fries, garden salad, Poland Spring water and Pepsi products. Alcoholic beverages are not included. Free Citizenship Classes Offered In Toms River
NEW JERSEY –
Free citizenship preparation classes will be offered this summer, from June 20 to July 27 at Donovan High School, Toms River, NJ.  Classes will be on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 9pm.  In order to qualify, you must have a green card for at least 5 years, and be able to speak, read and write English.  Registration on June 13 at 6 pm  Call Sr. Margaret Nulty at 732-998-3153   to pre-register.
