Pierogi Volunteers Needed and Welcome
CLIFTON, NJ – The Loaves and Fishes of St. John Kanty Church will be making pierogi for the Easter season on Wednesday, April 3 and Thursday, April 4 and on Wednesday, April 10 and Thursday April 11 in the parish hall. If you are free to volunteer your time please come to the parish hall from 8:00AM to 12 noon. No experience necessary. You will be helping your church and having great fun with other parishioners. Pierogi Sale for the Easter Season
CLIFTON, NJ – The St. John Kanty Loaves and Fishes will be making pierogis for the Easter season. Pierogis (farmer’s cheese, sauerkraut, and potato with cheese) may be ordered by calling the PIEROGI HOT LINE at 973-773-7054. Orders will be filled on April 4 and April 11 on a  first come basis as long as supplies last.

Pierogi Project In Ohio
YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO – The current co-directors of the Pierogi Project – St. Stanislaus Kostka are Julie Brincko and Mary Danus. Call them with any problems or suggestions. Pierogi are sold every Friday from September until the last Friday of May. Order on Thursdays from 8:00 AM to 12 AM. Phone 330-747-3024. Pick up is from 8:30 until 1:00 PM on Friday mornings. Pierogi available in: Potato & Cheese, Sauerkraut, Cottage Cheese. Volunteers:  We welcome anyone to come and help us make our pierogi. We work on Tuesday peeling and cutting the potatoes, making the cheese mixture and setting up the hall for lunches. On Wednesday, potatoes are cooked and balls are made out of the fillings. We need people to help with this and cleaning up. Wednesday evenings at 6:00 and Thursday mornings at 7:30 we begin to make the pierogi. Pinchers, cooks and counters are needed this day. Friday they are sold. Counter help is always welcome. Come to the kitchen on any day and someone will volunteer to help you get started. For more information call 330-747-3024. Indoor Garage Sale
NEW YORK – The General Pulaski Memorial Committee of Orange County, Pine Island, NY will be holding a “Indoor Garage Sale” on Saturday, April 6
th and Sunday, April 7th from 8 am to 4 pm at the CYO Building, County Route 1, Pine Island, NY. There will also be a Bake Sale. So enjoy a cup of coffee and hot dog while you shop! Clifton Skate Day

Spring Into Health

Get Egg-cited about Easter at Pisanki Workshop!
ILLINOIS – Easter is on its way. Get in the spirit by learning the intricate art of making Pisanki – Polish egg decorating on Saturday, April 13, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Polish Museum of America, 984 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago. The workshop will be held in the PRCUA Social Hall on the first floor. This year’s event is co-sponsored by the Edward T. & Ellen K. Dryer Charitable Foundation. The workshop registration fee is $25 and includes the cost of stylus and wax. Each participant is asked to bring 3-4 hard-boiled eggs. Children must be at least 10 years old and accompanied by a parent or guardian for the entire workshop. Museum admission is complimentary for each paid participant on the day of the workshop. Polish Cultural School In Plainfield, NJ
NEW JERSEY – St. Bernard & St. Stanislaus Church in Plainfield offer Polish classes for children. On Mondays during the school year from 5:30 Pm to 8:00 PM classes are held for Polish children ages 3 and up.  Polish children are being taught the Polish language and culture.  Children who attend the classes already speak Polish, but the school helps them to improve the language of their parents. Red Hat Angels Host Fundraiser At Bruno’s
CLIFTON, NJ – The Red Hat Angels, a team walking in the Relay For Life – Clifton, will host a fundraiser on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Bruno’s Restaurant, 1006 Route 46 West, Clifton Plaza in Clifton. Mike and Rich, owners of Bruno’s, are generously donating 20% of all checks (pretax amount) throughout the day (between 11 AM and 9 PM). This generous offer is on dine in, take-out and delivery orders. The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life is a celebration of hope and survivorship. The annual Relay for Life of Clifton will be held at Clifton Stadium on Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 4 PM to 12 midnight. (Please note our NEW TIMES). Team members take turns walking or running on the track all day and into the night to fight cancer. Cancer never sleeps and neither do the teams. FRIENDS of the Clifton Public Library Semi-Annual Meeting
CLIFTON, NJ – You are cordially invited to our semi annual meeting, April 16 at 7:00 PM  in the MAIN MEMORIAL LIBRARY. After our short meeting, the FRIENDS are featuring Kathy Grimshaw. She  is a genealogist and Head of Reference and Local History Services at the  Clifton Public Library.  Ms. Grimshaw will speak about genealogy and how  to get started tracing your own family roots.  This event is free and  open to the public.  We look forward to seeing you. Homebound Service
CLIFTON, NJ – The Clifton Public Library provides free delivery of books and audiobooks to those residents of Clifton who are homebound, reside in a nursing home or assisted living environment. If you feel you qualify for this service, please print and fill out an application and mail it back to the Library. Someone will then be in touch with you to confirm details and set up delivery. Easter Bunny Bash
CLIFOTN, NJ – The Clifton Recreation Department and the Clifton Board of Recreation are proud to announce that the Easter Bunny Bash will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019 (this event will take place rain or shine, there is no rain date) from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at Nash Park on Lexington Avenue across from the Hot Grill. You can call the weather hotline at (973) 470-5680 after 6:30 a.m. for updates on day of the event. Participants can begin their morning by purchasing breakfast at the Hot Grill between 7:30am-9:30am and while there, Mr. Bunny will come around to say hello. There will be an egg-cellent selection of free activities and fun for children ages 3-12 following the breakfast.  After breakfast head over to the Bunny Bash beginning 9:30 a.m. Activities will include Mrs. Bunny’s Playstation featuring a variety of games and fun such as tattoos, bunny basketball, carrot toss, ring around the bunny, the bunny launch, egg golf, the egg run (for children ages 3-12 only. Participants may visit this station only once and must be able to participate without parental assistance/accompaniment), face painting at the Bunny Beauty Shop and rides including the Bunny Train and Bunny Bounce House. There will not be a traditional Egg Hunt at this event.  Bring your cameras and visit with Mr. Bunny at his Bunny Hut in the playground area to take a photo.  All participants will receive a special treat for visiting. Pets are welcomed to take a photo with Mr. Bunny as well and will receive a special treat for visiting. All pets visiting must be licensed with the City of Clifton and be able to interact calmly with other animals and people.  Participants may only visit this station once. Children ages 8-12 can enter the 20th Annual “Bunny Hop” to see how many times you can hop on a pogo stick for a maximum of 5 minutes. The highest scoring boy and girl in each age group will win a prize (you must use the pogo stick provided by the Recreation Department, no exceptions). New this year: Contest will run from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. and contestants should return at 11 a.m. on the basketball court for results. Participants may only enter the bunny hop contest once. Be the grandest lady or gentleman when you present your hand-made Easter Bonnet, with all the thrills upon it, at our 13th Annual Easter Bonnet Parade and Contest.  Register your hat at the event inside the playground area by the fieldhouse.  All entries must be registered by 10:15 a.m.  Once registered, parade and judging will be led by Mrs. Bunny.  Meet at the front entrance of the playground at 10:30 a.m. wearing your Easter Bonnet.
