Troop 21 Boy Scout Pancake Breakfast
CLIFTON, NJ – The annual Troop 21 Boy Scout Pancake Breakfast will be held in the St. Philip the Apostle School Auditorium at 797 Valley Road on Sunday, February 24th from 8 am to Noon (last seating at 11:30 am). Adults $10.00, seniors $8.00 and children 12 & under $5.00 Children under 4 eat free with paying adult. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Please come enjoy pancakes, sausage, eggs, juice & coffee and support Troop 21!
Felician 21 and Over Program “Dine To Donate”
NEW JERSEY – The Felician 21 and Over Program is going to have a “Dine to Donate” Fundraiser Night at Houlihan’s in Hasbrouck Heights on Tuesday, February 26th from 5 pm-9 pm. A portion of the proceeds will be donated back to the Program. Of course, the more people who come, the better the profit! Diners will need to present a flyer to their server that evening. Houlihan’s has also requested that the Felician 21 and Over Program give them a “best guess” estimate of attendants for the evening. Dinner and a Movie Re-scheduled
CLIFTON, NJ – Bring your family to the Clifton Community Recreation Center (1232 Main Ave.) for a low cost night out of dinner and a movie on Thursday, March 21, 2019. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. and the movie, “Small Foot”, will begin at 6:30 p.m. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. The cost is $6.00 per person and covers the entrance to the movie, unlimited popcorn, juice, a small bag of your favorite movie candy and dinner provided by Gerry D’s Catering (small French fries and choice of 1 hotdog, 1 hamburger, 1 cheeseburger or 1 grilled cheese sandwich and 1 can of soda or bottled water). Owls of New Jersey – Audubon Program At NJBG – Feb. 24th
NEW JERSEY – NJBG invites you to learn more about the Owls of New Jersey at the New Jersey State Botanical Garden on Sunday, February 24, 2019, at 1 pm. Don Torino of the Bergen County Audubon Society will offer an indoor photo presentation on these fascinating and important raptors, touching on the many different species that inhabit our region. Sorry, no live specimens. This program is free and will be held indoors at the Carriage House Visitor Center. Ongoing snow cancels. The New Jersey State Botanical Garden at Skylands, which appears on both the State and National Registers of Historic Places, is open from 8 am to 6 pm every day in the winter, 8 am to 8 pm the rest of the year. Admission to the Garden is always free. Parking is also free in the fall, winter and spring. NJBG/Skylands is located on Morris Road in Ringwood, New Jersey. Consular Visit To Piast Institute
MICHIGAN – The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago would like to inform you that it is organizing a consular visit the 16th and 17th of March. It will be held at the Piast Institute located at 11633 Joseph Campau, Hamtramck, MI 48212. During the visit the Consulate will only address applications or renewals of a Polish passport. Applicants are required to bring two passport photos.

Heart Healthy Eating Presentation
CLIFTON, NJ – The Clifton Health Department and the American Heart Association of New Jersey will be offering an educational presentation on Heart Healthy Eating on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 10:30 am at the Main Memorial Library, 292 Piaget Ave., Community Room B. A Registered Dietician of the American Heart Association will discuss the importance of maintaining a well-balanced diet as well as recommendations for reducing your risk of heart disease. Registration is required; please call 973-470-5773 to register. Smoking, an unhealthy diet, and insufficient exercise are all factors that can increase your risk for having heart disease. High cholesterol, high blood pressure, and diabetes are conditions that may further increase your risk. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the best ways to prevent heart disease are to eat a healthy diet, making an extra effort to reduce saturated fat in your diet, maintain a healthy, appropriate weight, exercise regularly, and prevent or maintain other health conditions. The Clifton Health Department and the American Heart Association encourage you to register for this presentation to learn more about how to prevent or lower your risk for developing heart disease. The Clifton Health Department is a contractual health agency serving the Township of Little Falls.
Fundraiser to Support 10th Annual Health Hike
HAMTRAMCK, Mich. – The Hamtramck Drug Free Community Coalition (HDFCC) will be partnering with Baker Streetcar Bar to host a fundraiser dinner from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27. A donation of $20 at the door will cover the meal, and will go towards the 10th Annual Health Hike. The evening will also include a cash bar and a 50/50 raffle. Baker Streetcar Bar is located at 9817 Joseph Campau Ave. This year’s Heath Hike will be held on Saturday, May 4. The Hamtramck Health Hike is an annual event hosted by the HDFCC that consists of a 5K course through the streets of Hamtramck. This event encourages community members of all ages to walk or run the course and participate in other healthy activities throughout the day, free of charge. The Health Hike draws 400 to 500 people annually, and this year the Hike is celebrating its 10th year of encouraging the youth and adults of Hamtramck to live healthy, drug-free lifestyles. This event would not be possible without the incredible support from the community.
