Free Career / Job Fair, April 18th At PCCC
NEW JERSEY – A Career/Job Fair will be held April 18 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Passaic County Community College Paterson campus, located at Broadway and Memorial Drive.   The Fair will be in the College gymnasium; entrance is on 204 Ellison Street.  Admission is free. Attendees can meet with representatives and learn about job openings and opportunities in a wide range of industries including communication, healthcare, financial, retail, security, and government. Attendees should dress professionally, bring at least 20 copies of their resume, and be prepared for on-the-spot interviews. Polka Spring Fling

RI Polonia Scholarship Foundation Announces
RHODE ISLAND –  The Rhode Island Polonia Scholarship Foundation is kicking off its 35th anniversary celebration in April with an online fundraiser.  The online fundraiser is through our website ( and everyone can choose their own amount to donate via our secure PayPal Donate Button.  All donations go directly to scholarships and are tax deductible.  We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. On Sunday, April 28th at 1:30 p.m. our Annual Awards Scholarship Ceremony takes place at St. Adalbert’s Parish Center in Providence – this year we are awarding $27,000 in scholarships ($1,000 each) to high school seniors entering college this Fall in 2013.  The Rhode Island Polonia Scholarship Foundation is promoting a trip to Poland “Discovering Poland’ as part of our 35th anniversary celebration. Clothing Drive
– Saint John Kanty Parish, Speer Avenue, Clifton, will hold a clothing drive on Tuesday, April 30th from 8 am till 5 pm in the school parking lot. We are collecting clothing, shoes, belts, pocketbooks, sheets, blankets, comforters, bedspreads, towels, curtains and stuffed animals. Please make sure that all the items are in plastic bags.

Annual Scholarship Appeal And Awards Luncheon
NEW YORK – The Westchester Pulaski Association Annual Scholarship Appeal is now under way for 2013. As a result of the past fund raising efforts and donations since 1977, we have been able to award scholarships totaling over $218,500.00 to college bound area students of Polish ancestry. These actions were accomplished by the dedication and volunteer services of the members and supporters of the Westchester Pulaski Association, a Federal 501-(c) (3) non-profit organization. Contributions can be made in the form of a donation, journal ad, or by attending our 2013 Awards Luncheon which will be held on April 28th at the Polish Center, 92 Waverly St., Yonkers, NY. Master Gardeners of Bergen County Meeting
NEW JERSEY – April’s meeting of the Bergen County Master Gardeners, will feature a special program: “It’s all in the Details”, designing outstanding landscapes by attending to the smallest details. It will be presented by Arnie Friedman, Master Gardener Class of 2004. Arnie is a graduate of the New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) Landscape Design program, and serves as an instructor in NYBG’s Horticulture and Landscape Design programs. Arnie also teaches design to the Bergen County Master Gardener class. The presentation will be held on: Tuesday April 23 at 7:30 pm, at The County Administration Building, One Bergen Plaza, County Place, Hackensack in the Learning Center on the 1st floor, Home of the County Extension Office. There is plenty of parking. Meetings are open to all interested gardeners, free of charge, and refreshments, followed by announcements, start at 7 pm.
