Apple Fritters – Jablka w Ciescie
JABLKA W CIEŚCIE
1 c. flour
2 T. sugar
2 T. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 beaten egg
2/3 c. milk
2 T. butter or oleo, melted
Pare, core, and slice apples crosswise into rings.
Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Mix egg, milk and butter. Stir into dry ingredients: blend till smooth, but do not overbeat.
Batter should be thick enough to coat apples; if not, add flour to thicken, or milk to dilute.
Dip apple slices into batter and deep-fry at 375˚ for three minutes, turning once.
Drain on paper towels and serve hot with confectioners sugar or cinnamon and sugar sprinkled over top.
