Shaw vs Chesterton:
The Debate

ILLINOIS – Between 1908 and 1928 Bernard Shaw and G. K. Chesterton met several times to debate the issues of the day.  Each debate was moderated by Hilaire Belloc.  Chicago director and playwright Timothy Gregory has adapted one of those debates based on the writings of Chesterton and Shaw.

ShawChicago has joined forces with the G. K. Chesterton Institute for Faith & Culture at Seton Hall University to present this special one night only event.  The debate will be held on Monday, June 11th  – One Night Only – at 7 p.m. The evening will include Gregory’s adaptation and a discussion with Father Ian Boyd, President of the G. K. Chesterton Institute for Faith & Culture and a world authority on G. K. Chesterton.

Chesterton created the Father Brown character which has found a new life in the Father Brown series on PBS. Tickets are $50 and are on sale here  or by calling 312-587-7390.
