Clifton Night At the Jackals
CLIFTON, NJ – Join fellow residents as we cheer for the NJ Jackals as they burn rubber around the bases in this festive event on Thursday, July 23, 2015 co-sponsored by the Clifton Recreation Department, the NJ Jackals and the Clifton Optimist Club. Come root for the New Jersey Jackals beginning 7:05 p.m. at Yogi Berra Stadium on the MSU Campus. This year’s theme is: 50’s Nite-Jack’s Sock Hop! Slick back your hair, break out your poodle skirts, saddle shoes, cuff your jeans and blast back to the 50’s & receive a goody bag at the game for participating! Be hip…prizes will be given to the participants with the best outfit.  Join us for crafts, games and a hula hoop contest. The cost is $6.00 per person. Receive 1 free raffle ticket for NJ Jackals souvenirs (courtesy of the Clifton Optimist Club). Participants interested in becoming a Baseball Buddy for the evening should register at the Recreation Department or online. Residents will be seated together and the raffles will be drawn in the 5th inning. Cat Adoption Day & Ice Cream Social

US Navy Seal At PMA – Formoza Charity Fundraiser
ILLINOIS – The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago and the Polish Museum in America and the Tatra Mountain Cultural Foundation cordially invites you to a charity fundraiser to help US Navy SEAL Bradley Nagel to participate in an ultra-triathlon – “From the Baltic Coast to the High Tatra Mountains: A triathlon across the length of Poland!”  The charity event will be held at The Polish Museum of America, 984 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL 60642, on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at 3 p.m. Admission – suggested donation $20.00. Polish highlander-style refreshments will be served.  Guests will have the opportunity to meet Bradley Nagel, member of SEAL Team 7, who will speak on SEAL training and military missions. Also appearing will be representatives of the Polish Armed Forces from the European Center for NATO, who will discuss the cooperative efforts of Polish Military Forces in NATO.  Sports memorabilia will be auctioned off during the event, including autographed items by Marcin Gortat, Polish NBA star, currently with the Washington Wizards. Gortat is also a spokesperson for Poland’s KRS Formoza, as well as an honorary patron of the triathlon.  Organized by KRS Formoza, participants of the triathlon, all special forces commandos, will swim 18km from Hel down the Gulf of Gdansk to Gdynia, cycle from Gdynia to Morskie Oko in Zakopane, and storm the highest peak in the Tatra Mountains. The triathlon concludes with a ceremony unveiling a commemorative plaque honoring the fifth anniversary of the tragic death in Smolensk of former Commander of Special Forces and patron of the Military Unit Formoza, General Wlodzimier Potasiński. Serdecznie zapraszają całą Polonię na polsko-amerykańską akcję charytatywną. Zebrane fundusze zostaną wykorzystane do wysłania US Navy SEAL Bradleya Nagela do Polski na ultra-triathlon – „Z Helu na Rysy, czyli Triathlonem przez Polskę”. Uczestnicy triathlonu przepłyną Zatokę Gdańską w piankach i osprzęcie ABC z Helu do plaży w Gdyni. Następnie przemierzą rowerem Polskę od Gdyni po Morskie Oko w Zakopanem. Kolejnym krokiem jest szturm na najwyższy szczyt w Tatrach. Triathlon zakończy uroczystość odsłonięcia tablicy pamiątkowej ku uczczeniu piątej rocznicy śmierci w tragedii pod Smoleńskiem byłego dowódcy Wojsk Specjalnych i patrona Jednostki Wojskowej Formoza, generała broni Włodzimierza Potasińskiego. Impreza charytatywna odbędzie się w Muzeum Polskim w Ameryce, pod adresem 984 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL 60642, w niedzielę, 26 lipca 2015 roku o godzinie piętnastej. Wstęp – sugerowany datek 20 $. Serwowany będzie góralski poczęstunek.  Goście będą mieli okazję spotkać Bradleya Nagela, członka SEAL Team 7, który opowie o szkoleniu SEAL i misjach wojskowych. Pojawi się także przedstawiciel Polskich Sił Zbrojnych z Europejskiego Centrum NATO, który będzie omawiać wysiłki Polskich Sił Zbrojnych w NATO. Podczas imprezy zostaną poddane licytacji pamiątki sportowe. Są między nimi podarunki z autografami Marcina Gortata, polskiej gwiazdy NBA grającej obecnie w Washington Wizards. M. Gortat jest również rzecznikiem polskiego KRS Formoza, a także honorowym patronem tego wydarzenia.  KRS Formoza to obecni i byli żołnierze Polskich Sił Specjalnych. Członkowie Formozy wykorzystują swoje doświadczenia, aby pomóc innym żołnierzom rannym w akcjach specjalnych. Działają na rzecz integracji środowisk żołnierzy oraz sympatyków i miłośników jednostki. Pragną podtrzymywać tradycje narodowe, pielęgnować polskość oraz rozwijać świadomość narodową, obywatelską i kulturową. Duplicate Book Sale Continues!
ILLINOIS – If you love books, this is the place to purchase them at discount prices. Location: Polish Museum of America, 984 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago, IL 60642 (Polish Roman Catholic Union of America Social Hall, First Floor). The opening weekend of the 2015 Annual Duplicate Book Sale was a great success, thanks to the help of PMAL volunteers and all of Polonia who attended the event in great number!  All funds raised through this sale will help finance necessary improvements to the 100-year-old Library and ensure its continued success. Many books are still waiting to be purchased! All titles are now available at further discounted prices through the end of July during regular Library weekday hours: Monday, Tuesday, & Friday: 10 am-4 pm; and Wednesday, 1-7 pm. Dochód z wyprzedaży jest przeznaczony na dalszy rozwój placówki.
Książki, które wciąż jeszcze czekają na swoich amatorów zostały przecenione i są do nabycia do 30 lipca w godzinach otwarcia biblioteki, czyli w poniedziałek, wtorek, piątek: 10:00-16:00, w środę: 13:00-19:00.

Free Skin Cancer Screening
NEW JERSEY – The Clifton Health Department and Dr. Adriana Ros, D.O., F.A.O.C.D. of the Dermatology Institute & Laser Center are co-sponsoring a free Skin Cancer Screening on Monday, July 27, 2015 from 9 AM to 11 AM at the Clifton Health Department in the second floor health clinic, 900 Clifton Avenue, Clifton, New Jersey 07013. Dr. Ros will be performing the exams. This is a FREE screening, but registration is required and space is limited. Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States. Individuals need to protect their skin from UV rays all year round, but now that the warmer weather is approaching everyone should be more aware about protecting their skin in the bright sunlight. According to Lori Ann DiRienzo, MPH, MAE, CHES, Health Educator for the City of Clifton, “Early detection is the best defense against all forms of skin cancer.” In order to facilitate your exam, please wear a single layer of clothing. This screening is free. Registration is required. Please call (973) 470-5760 to schedule your appointment. This screening is open to residents of Clifton and Little Falls. The Clifton Health Department is a contractual health agency for the Township of Little Falls.

Special Reception On Poland – Israel Relations In The Hi-Tech Era
NEW YORK  – In celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Poland and Israel,  The Consulate General of Israel in New York,  The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in New York,  and the Friends of the European Leadership Network (ELNET) will hold a special reception on “Poland-Israel Relations in the Hi-Tech Era” – An insider’s look with JACEK OLEJNIK, Executive Director ELNET-Poland. Greetings by Consul General of Poland in New York Urszula Gacek and Deputy Consul General of Israel in New York Amir Sagie. The event will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 11:00 am at the UJA-Federation of New York, 130 E. 59th Street New York, NY. Luncheon reception to be served, Kosher dietary laws observed. Mr. Jacek Olejnik, Executive Director of ELNET-Poland, is an expert in Poland-Israel relations.  He served as Public Affairs Specialist at the Embassy of Israel in Warsaw (2004-2007) dealing with contacts between the Embassy and Poland’s parliament, Polish members of European Union parliament, as well as influential journalists and representatives of academia. He spent the past 5 years serving as a Polish diplomat at the Embassy of Poland in Tel Aviv (2009-2014) dealing with contacts between the Polish government and the Knesset, political parties, NGOs  and Israeli media. He was also the Embassy’s Spokesperson. Mr. Olejnik also worked at the Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw as an expert in Poland-Israel relations, dealing mostly with education and  fundraising (2007-2009). Mr. Olejnik is a social psychologist (MA) and has been working as an academic teacher at the Warsaw School of Social Psychology (2003-2009). He was also a Polish partner (in the rank of a Program Director) at Polish/American/Jewish Alliance in Cracow (2002-2004) and is an Alumnus of the Government, Diplomacy and   Strategy Program at IDC Herzliya. His fiancée lives in Israel and is an entrepreneur and relationship coach.

Family Christian Rock Concert
