Labor Day Parade To Honor St. John Paul II
MICHIGAN – During the parade on Labor Day which is in honor of St. John Paul II, please visit the Polish American Congress – Michigan Division office located at 11333 Jos. Campau, Hamtramck from 12:00 am to 5:00 pm to view the exhibit on St. John Paul II. (A limited number of prayer cards of St. John Paul II will be given to those viewing the exhibit). The exhibit consists of several display boards on the following topics: The Holy Father and Youth, The Traveling Pope, Youth Depicting the Life of Pope John Paul II through Art, The Pope’s Visit to Hart Plaza – Hamtramck, A Look at a Modern Day Saint. There will be posters of the Holy Father for viewing and some posters will be available to purchase. Donations go towards PAC Michigan Division Scholarship Fund Inc.
Celebration Honoring Our Lady of Czestochowa
PENNSYLVANIA – Polish Falcons of America and the Polish Clergy of the Diocese of Pittsburgh will hold the Sixth Annual Celebration Honoring Our Lady of Czestochowa on Tuesday, August 26 at St. Paul Cathedral in Pittsburgh. Mass, held in remembrance of the 70th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising, will commence at 7 p.m. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., Radoslaw Fizek will perform an array of Polish patriotic selections. The Most Reverend David A. Zubik will serve as Celebrant. Confessions in both Polish and English will be heard from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Donor support is greatly appreciated. Garden Festival – Fundraiser For Little Servant Sisters
NEW JERSEY – The LITTLE SERVANT SISTERS OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION with the help of volunteers will host a GARDEN FESTIVAL, their ANNUAL FUNDRAISER, to be held at the Provincialate – Novitiate, 1000 Cropwell Road, Cherry Hill, on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2014 from 10 am to 6 pm – rain or shine. The event will feature homemade Polish hot and frozen food, baked goods, American fare, and beverages ~ available from 11 am, and live entertainment featuring Disc Jockey Bruce Zamorski from 11 am to 3 pm. There will be a well-displayed White Elephant Sale & Collectibles, Religious Goods, Polish Imports, Variety Booths Plants & Flora, Special Prizes, & Children’s Games. Divine Mercy Devotions & Benediction will take place in the Convent Chapel at 3 p.m. Guests from near and far are welcome. Free parking and shuttle service at Cherry Hill HC East on Kresson Rd and Beck Middle School on Cropwell Rd. The support received will help the Little Servant Sisters in some measure with the training of Sisters in teaching and health care in the USA, and also their works of mercy among the poor in their missions in Africa, Eastern Europe, Russian East Siberia, Philippines, and Jamaica. Aria Chorus Celebrates 50 Years!
NEW JERSEY – Aria Chorus from Wallington, NJ is celebrating it’s 50th year of existence. A mixed chorus #303 of the Polish Singers Alliance of America, invites all to the Gala Banquet to be held on Sept. 20, 2014 at Cracovia Manor in Wallington. Aria Chorus participates in numerous patriotic, cultural, and sacral events within the Tri-state area. Its purpose is to promote and preserve Polish culture through song. Aria also competes in metropolitan area conventions as well as in international conventions. This past Memorial weekend the International Convention was held in Detroit, Mich. with 17 choruses competing. Aria won 2nd place in the mixed chorus category.
