Polish American Festival
PENNSYLVANIA – The 49th Annual Polish American Festival at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa, located on Ferry Road in Doylestown, PA, takes place during Labor Day Weekend, Saturday, August 30th, Sunday, August 31st and Labor Day, Monday, September 1st from 12 noon until 8 P.M. each day. The Polish American Festival features carnival rides, live music and stage shows and ongoing entertainment on the main stage and in the Polish Village highlighting Polish traditions and customs, Polish Folk Dance Groups, along with a variety of Polish and American food and refreshments. The $12.00 admission includes all events and carnival rides. The Festival will continue on Saturday, September 6th, and Sunday, September 7th. Rafal Sarnecki Quintet At Twins Jazz
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rafal Sarnecki Quintet will be performing at Twins Jazz on Tuesday, September 2nd – two sets @ 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm. Twins Jazz is located at 1344 U. St. NW in Washington, D.C. Originally from Warsaw, Poland, Rafał Sarnecki is a jazz guitarist and composer currently living in Queens, NY. In the 9 years that Rafal spent living in the Big Apple he has become one of the most sought after jazz composers of his generation. As a leader of his own projects Rafal has toured 11 European countries, China, Israel and the East and West Coast of the US. He has recorded 3 CDs as a leader. The debut album Song From a New Place (2008) was nominated for the Fryderyk 2009 Award, the Polish equivalent of a Grammy. This is going to be a great show. With a strong Polish accent. Luncheon To Help Moms & Babies
NEW JERSEY – On Sunday, September 14, beginning at 12:30 p.m., the 6th annual Women Empowering Women Luncheon will take place at the Polish American Citizens Club, Liberty Hall, 29 Kline Blvd., in Whitehouse Station. This festive event is held to raise funds for The Center for Great Expectations, a residential treatment center for homeless, pregnant adolescents and their children, and homeless, pregnant women in substance use recovery and their children. The Center is located at 19 Dellwood Lane, Somerset and welcomes adolescents, women and children throughout the state of New Jersey. A resident of the Center will share her personal story of how her life is changing as a result of the Center’s programs. The silent auction selection includes many luxury and gift items to include everyone on your holiday list. There will be special surprise gifts from the glamorous world of advertising. NEW YORK – The General Pulaski Memorial Committee of Orange County NY will hold their 8th Annual Penny Social on Friday September 12, 2014 in the St. Joseph Banquet Hall, (lower level) Glenmere Ave., Florida, NY.
