St. Andrew’s Carnival

St. Joseph’s Polish American Festival
RHODE ISLAND – All are welcome at the St. Joseph’s annual Polish-American Festival, September 6-8 at 391 High Street, Central Falls. Polish Children’s Heartline Annual Luncheon
NEW JERSEY – The Polish Childrens Heartline will hold its 28th Annual Luncheon on Sunday, September 8th at The Robert B. Meyner Reception Center at The PNC Arts Center in Holmdel (exit 116 off the Garden State Parkway). Van Houten Ave Street Fair
CLIFTON, NJ – The Athenia Business Association of Clifton presents its 11th Annual VAN HOUTEN AVE STREET FAIR which will be held on Sunday, September 15th from 11 am to 5 pm. Van Houten Ave will be transformed into a giant town block party, a pedestrian marketplace – exhibitors displaying their merchandise, a host of vendors, food, a stage with entertainment & music, rides for the children, a petting zoo, pony rides, and much more! Ocean County Polish American Social Club
NEW JERSEY – Our club members meet at the Firehouse on Commonwealth Blvd. in Manchester on the second Friday of the month, and our next meeting will be on September 13th at 12:30 p.m. All are welcome. Audubon Nature Walk At NJBG, Sept. 8th
NEW JERSEY – NJBG invites you to explore the Botanical Garden’s many beautiful residents on a Nature Walk at the New Jersey State Botanical Garden on Sunday, September 8 at 10 am. The walk will be led by volunteers from the Bergen County Audubon Society and NJBG. Join us for an easy walk in the garden and fields around the Botanical Garden as we look for and identify some of the many birds, butterflies and plants that call NJBG home. Wear comfortable shoes and meet at the Carriage House Visitor Center. Rain cancels. This program is free. The New Jersey State Botanical Garden at Skylands, which appears on both the State and National Registers of Historic Places, is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day of the year. NJBG Lilac Workshops – Sept. 7 & Sept. 21
NEW JERSEY – NJBG will sponsor two free hands-on Lilac Workshops on upcoming Saturdays, September 7 and September 21, 2013, from 9 am to 1 pm. NJBG volunteers work with horticultural expert Daniel Ryniec, former lilac curator of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. to restore and improve the NJ Botanical Garden’s renowned lilac collection. Mr. Ryniec will give a lesson in lilac care and cultivation at 10 am. Lilacs are very popular landscape plants in our area and make a wonderful addition to any home garden, offering floods of flowers and a delightful scent throughout May and into early June. Join these free workshops for a great chance to learn by doing, and to get answers to any questions you may have. Beginners are welcome. Bring gloves, rakes and pruners if you have them. The New Jersey State Botanical Garden at Skylands, which appears on both the State and National Registers of Historic Places, is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and admission to the Garden is always free.
