Ice Cream Social
NEW JERSEY – Please join the Red Hat Angels, a team in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Clifton for a Beat the Heat Ice Cream Social on Sunday, August 4th @ 2 PM at Clifton’s Senior Citizen Center, Dog Pound Road, Clifton. Enjoy making your own sundae, join in a sing along and win some gifts as the miniature pony’s race for a cure. Tickets are $8.00 with all proceeds to benefit the Relay for Life Clifton. Polish Soldier’s Day

Drive-In Movie At National Night Out
NEW JERSEY – Grab the family and drive over to Main Memorial Park, located at Park Slope and Main Avenue, on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 for this year’s Drive-In Movie which will be featured during National Night Out, sponsored by the Clifton Recreation Department and “Clifton Against Substance Abuse”. Spend the evening outdoors and view the blockbuster hit, “Wreck-It Ralph” (rated PG) on a large movie screen. The movie begins as soon as it is dark enough to view; show usually begins between 8:45 and 9:00 p.m. Set up a few chairs or lay down a blanket and be ready to enjoy an evening under the stars. Workshops for Immigrant Entrepreneurs
NEW YORK CITY – The New York Public Library will be hosting a series of workshops for immigrant business owners at the Science, Industry and Business Library this week. The series is a pilot project created by the Library for the Competition To Help Reach Immigrant Ventures and Entrepreneurs (THRIVE). sponsored by the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). Competition THRIVE is designed to generate business plans that will address the challenges faced by immigrant entrepreneurs, including access to credit, financial management, language barriers and access to business networks. The three classes will cover common issues that impact entrepreneurs: Legal and Accounting Matters and Transfering Ownership of a Business (Saturday, August 3 10 am-2 pm), Selling a Business (Thursday, August 1 6-9 pm), and Transition Planning (Tuesday, July 30 6-9 pm).
