Polish University Club of NJ Elections
NEW JERSEY – The Polish University Club of New Jersey recently held election of officers for the upcoming year, 2013-2014. Those elected were: Joseph Brazinski, President; Casmir Drygas and Rodney Koza, Co-First Vice Chairmen; Carolyn Hamming, Second Vice Chairman; Wesley Warchol, Treasurer; Walter Urbielewicz, Secretary: Wojtek Welenc, Sgt. at Arms and Stanley Mruk, Historian with Peter Pietrucha, Honorary Historian. This professional organization was founded in 1928 with the plan to help with the education of Polish American youth from New Jersey. The primary goal of the PUC of NJ is to provide scholarships to undergraduate students. Rev. Leon S. Aniszczyk Celebrates 40th Anniversary
NEW JERSEY – Fr. Leon S. Aniszczyk, Pastor of St. Mary of Czestochowa Church in Bound Brook, celebrated his 40th Anniversary of the Priesthood on May 26, 2013. A special Mass was held followed by a catered reception in the School Hall. He was ordained on May 27, 1973 in the Diocese of Lomza by Bishop Alexander Moscicki. Father Leon came to the United States in 1982, where he served several parishes in Philadelphia and then in the Diocese of Metuchen. On June 10, 2003, Fr. Leon was appointed Administrator of St. Mary of Czestochowa Parish and on August 27, 2004, was appointed Pastor.
NEW JERSEY – Holy Cross Church of Woodland Park will hold a Flea Market with outside vendors – antiques, electronics, toys & more – on June 1st from 9 am to 4 pm. Hospice Offers Bereavement Support
NEW JERSEY – Passaic Valley Hospice will be offering a Bereavement Support Group on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 p.m. beginning June 5th. The group will meet for seven weekly sessions ending on July 17th, at 783 Riverview Drive, just south of Route 46 in Totowa. The group provides understanding and support through the grieving process. Disney’s The Little Mermaid Trip Planned
NEW JERSEY – Join the Clifton Recreation Department at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn for a presentation of “The Little Mermaid” on Wednesday, June 5th. Event takes place at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn on Wednesday, June 5th. The bus will leave from City Hall at 5:30 p.m. (show time is 7 p.m). and return to City Hall at 10:30 p.m. The fee includes transportation, supervision and the performance. Friends of Athenia Veterans Pig Roast
NEW JERSEY – The 4th Annual FAV Pig Roast will be held on Sunday, June 2nd from 1 to 6 p.m. – rain or shine – at the Athenia Veterans Post, 147 Huron Ave., Clifton.
