Piano Recital Featuring Krystian Tkaczewski
CONNECTICUT – The Polish Cultural Center at the Polish National Home presents world renowned concert pianist Krystian Tkaczewski in a romantic recital of music of Chopin and various Russian composers. The event will take place on Friday, February 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Polish National Home’s Grand Ballroom, 60 Charter Oak Avenue, Hartford. There is free parking and the event is handicapped accessible. Refreshments will be served following the recital. Delicious meals will also be available for purchase in the Polish National Home’s Dining Room before the recital. RI Scholarship Application Deadline
RHODE ISLAND – The Rhode Island Polonia Scholarship Foundation will be awarding several scholarships of $1000 each to high school seniors who will be attending college in Fall 2013. Application submission deadline is February 15, 2013. Candidates must be of Polish-American descent, a resident of Rhode Island, or a member of a Rhode Island Polish-American organization. Annual Chopin Concert
PENNSYLVANIA – On Sunday, March 17, 2013 at 2:00 PM the Polish Heritage Society of Philadelphia will be sponsoring their 46th Annual Chopin Concert at Holy Family University, Technology Education Center located at 9801 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19114 in the North East Section of Philadelphia. A reception follows the recital to meet the guest pianist. Guest pianist is: Krystian Tkaczewski, described as a Polish Virtuoso. Born in Tarnow, Poland and recipient of numerous awards. Two Milestones For Rev. Canon Anthony D. Iwuc
RHODE ISLAND – The Reverend Canon Anthony D. Iwuc, Pastor Emeritus of St. Joseph Parish in Central Falls, will celebrate two milestones in 2013. On May 26th, he will celebrate the Diamond Jubilee (60th Anniversary) of his ordination to the priesthood on May 30, 1953. On Sunday, February 24th, he will celebrate his 85th birthday with a concelebrated Mass of Thanksgiving at St. Joseph Church at 11 a.m. Following the Sacred Banquet in the church, the celebration will continue with a Birthday Banquet in the Parish Social Center. Annual Valentine Penny Social
MASSACHUSETTS – The Annual Valentine Penny Social sponsored by Holy Cross Parish, Polish National Catholic Church, Ware will be held on Sunday, February 10 in the church hall. Doors open at 12:00 noon; Social commences at 1:00 pm. 1 cent. 5 cent and 10 cent tables with prizes will be featured as well as filled baskets, games for all, and other tables with gifts. ‘Snacks and refreshments will be available all afternoon. Home baked pastry with a large assortment can be purchased. Following the Social, cake and coffee will be served to all attendees. Every year a sizeable gathering of supporters attend and enjoy the fellowship. Heading the Penny Social Committee are two dedicated ladies, Evelyn Mongeau and Phyllis Laska assisted by parish volunteers.Many, many hearts will be an attraction (chocolate hearts) to be won and enjoyed by those in attendance and possibly shared with them.
