Ocean County Polish American Club
NEW JERSEY – The meeting of the members generally held on the second Saturday of the month has been changed. It will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. Please mark your calendars. The year 2013 found our members busy with many activities, trips and guest speakers. We ended the year with a bus trip to Atlantic City Resorts for lunch and Christmas Show; joining the Polish American Club of Toms River for a Holiday Celebration; and then a buffet lunch and play (“White Christmas) at the Surflight Theatre. Our last meeting of the year found members singing Christmas Carols and wishing all a Merry Christmas and Happy & Healthy New Year. Join us for our meeting in the New Year (2014) on January 18 at the Manchester Firehouse. All are welcome!
January Children’s Programs At Wallington Library
NEW JERSEY – The John F. Kennedy Memorial Library inn Wallington is pleased to announce that we have finalized our January Children’s Program lineup! For ages 3 and up, we will have 3 Bingos this month on Thursdays, 1/2, 1/16, and 1/30, each beginning at 3:30 pm in the library. Movie Night will be on Wednesday, January 15, at the VFW beginning at 6:30 pm and the movie will be Planes rated PG. Regular craft days are Mondays at 3:30 for ages 3 to 5 and Tuesdays at 3:30 for ages 6 to 8. Each week we will read a story and make a craft and share a snack afterwards. Please join us for some fun! Opera Concert At Lambert Castle
NEW JERSEY – On Sunday, January 19th at 5 pm in Lambert Castle (home of the Passaic County Historical Society) at 3 Valley Road, Paterson, performers Annamaria Stefanelli and Rory Angelicola will be holding an opera concert entitled An Afternoon of Italian Opera. Enjoy operatic arias, duets and songs performed in Lambert Castle’s beautiful setting. Seating is limited, but reservations will be accepted. MSCPWA Installs Officers For Two Year Term
NEW YORK – The Marie Sklodowska Professional Women’s Association will be installing its Officers and Executive Board as well as presenting the association’s Anthony and Josephine Chmura Memorial Scholarship Awards to deserving students on Friday, January 24, at its Annual Dinner Dance at Princess Manor, 92 Nassau Ave., in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY 11222. Festivities begin with a Cocktail Hour, followed by dinner. Valet Parking will be available. Music for listening and dancing pleasure will be supplied by Eddie Dziuba Plus Five Orchestra and DJ Stefan Bielski. Sroka Art Exhibition
NEW YORK – “Raw Beauty” – multicolor etchings by Jacek Sroka will be on display through January 17 at the EmArt Gallery – 61-50 Palmetto St. in Ridgewood, NY. Born in Kraków, Sroka studied at Academy of Fine Arts. He has won prizes at international competitions in Reykjavik, Vaasa, Seoul and Kraków.
